SXSW 2020
Bringing Life to Lady Liberty
Description:
At the new Statue of Liberty Museum on Ellis Island, interactive media is used in atypical forms to cultivate an experience as diverse as the Statue’s interpretations. Innovation within the experience design industry allows for a space to become a doorway into the digital world. The convergence of digital displays, advanced sensors, AI and more allows for the Statue’s 4.5 million annual visitors to explore Her history, symbolism, and role in the lives of many across the world. Through the lens of the Statue of Liberty museum, Nick Hubbard (ESI Design), Carol Feeley-Vario (Diversified), Jeremy Bloom (JSB Sound Design), and Alex Simionescu (Float4) will explore how interaction enhances culture consumption, the proliferation of experience design, and how to produce responsive environments.
