When Punishing Tech Use Widens the Social Divide
Description:
Using smartphones and social media. Playing games online. Hacking. Are these punishable offenses at school...or not? Are they relevant to learning? In this panel, experts will discuss how current approaches to disciplining technology use can perpetuate exclusion based on students’ social class, race, and disability—and outline ways forward.
