Faster, Smarter, Cleaner: The Prefab Revolution

Description:

Technology and design have reinvented almost all aspects of the modern world, except the places we spend the majority of our lives: Our homes. Expensive, inefficient, unhealthy, and often uninspiring, homes and homebuilding haven’t evolved in several hundred years. Enter LivingHomes, a sustainable residential design studio that debuted in 2006 with the world’s first LEED Platinum-certified home. In 2016 the studio launched Plant Prefab, a prefabricated home building factory, to meet rising demand and produce their evolved dwellings en masse. Today, Plant is combining a revolutionary new building system with some of the world’s greatest architects to create a new, affordable standard in residential construction; one in which high design, low impact, and smart technology are right at home.
