SXSW EDU 2020
Talking Tech: The Future of Language Learning
Description:
Access to more than one language allows us to interrogate fixed, singular understandings therein. It opens us to meanings, values, and ways of being. It gives us choices with consequences beyond where we can travel or what careers we can pursue. In a moment beset by fixed notions of the world — often heartbreaking consequences — digital language learning offers something beyond translation. It offers us a means of intervention, access to more than one possible world and to ourselves.
