Me, Myself & AI: An Experiment in Digital Cloning
We’re giving over our phone data, vlog entries & social media info to an AI in an experiment that will see us create our own AI clones and explore ideas of self in an age of machine learning & big data. The AI system will be a fusion of state-of-art techniques in Deep Learning & Natural Language Processing. From the collection of our personal data, the AI will generate a visual & conversational artificial representation of ourselves. We will present our process, reveal results & introduce our AI clones at SXSW. We’ll host a conversation on stage between us and our Version 2.0s to see how similar our views are. Audience participation is encouraged - attendees can pose questions to both us & our AI counterparts to see if we answer in the same way. Will our AI clones be better versions of us?

- Will machine learning imbue our clones with our morals, passions & temperaments as well as our opinions, or will our clones formulate different views?
- With governments, advertisers and corporations creating profiles of us today, what risks do inaccurate clones present to individuals and society?
- Will an AI clone created purely from our social media data appear and behave very differently to one sourced from our browsing habits or phone data?
