SXSW 2019

Spark of Science: The Unexpected Path

Description:

The path of science, like the path of life, can veer in unexpected, often surprising directions. Dr. France Córdova is an astrophysicist and the 14th director of the National Science Foundation. She has achieved many firsts in her scientific career, including as NASA's first female chief scientist, but her entry into the science profession was neither easy nor direct. As Dr. Córdova shares her journey, she will also share her vision to propel our nation forward with NSF's 10 Big Ideas for future investment at the frontiers of science and engineering.
