Operation Retail: How IoT Leads to InStore Success
Description:
Brick and mortar retail is struggling to compete with online retailers. Successful retailers capitalize on the competitive advantage of the in-store experience. One of the most successful tools to create engagement is the point of purchase display, yet execution has been a challenge for retailers and brands. Researchers at Texas McCombs have teamed up with Austin-based Shelfbucks to study a solution to the problem. The company has developed an IoT platform to track displays through the supply chain, from the retail stock room to the selling floor. The team is working on understanding what drives store manager behavior, how store managers respond to these alerts, and, most important, how to measure the financial impact of improving in-store display execution.
