SXSW 2019
Succeeding as a Female Founder and Entrepreneur
Description:
Being an entrepreneur is no easy feat, but, as in other sectors, women often face a steeper climb if they want their companies to be successful. Female founders tend to get less investor funding than men, their leadership and decision-making can be judged more harshly, and they may experience greater pressure to balance work and life, increasing their risk of burnout.
In this special live episode of the Women at Work podcast from Harvard Business Review, hosts Amy, Sarah, and Nicole lay out the research on the challenges facing women who run startups -- and share practical advice for how to overcome these barriers. They'll be joined by Washington DC-based entrepreneur Amelia Friedman, who will talk about her personal experience founding and building Hatch Apps.
