SXSW EDU 2019

Resurgence of Peer Connections for Adult Learners

Description:

By 2024, 70% of learners will be adults. Programs for adults such as bootcamps, certifications etc are growing rapidly in pace with the economic shifts. But the teaching model hasn't changed. The classes are face-to-face with little peer interaction even though research shows that the latter increases learning and retention. It's time to include peer-connection factors that help increase engagement and student retention. This talk explores how tech can help build peer-learning communities.
