Data Art: Transforming Big Data into Emotions

Description:

What is Data Art? Can we transform a spreadsheet or a gigantic database into a beautiful, emotional visualization?
Inspired by data visualization and creative coding, we will discuss their main differences as we dwell on the interesting datasets such as the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Wikipedia, the Montreux Jazz Festival or even the Pokemon Go phenomenon.
In this session, we will hopefully discover how Data Art can be used as a new communication medium to tell impactful stories by connecting scientific rigor with creativity.
