SXSW 2019

Scaling up AR/VR/MR/XR for eCommerce Visualization

Description:

In little over a year, AR tech for eCommerce shopping is virtually everywhere. “Seeing this in your room” is a great beginning, but it’s just not enough.

For manufacturers selling complex, configurable products — the experiential approach for 20 years was image manipulation in web visualizers — highly-realistic and helpful, but mostly abandoned due to complex, proprietary platforms, outdated interfaces, and expensive assets.

It’s time to use everything 3D offers! Our session will talk about how we’re building next generation, modern, open shopping experiences, how we’re scaling up production with 3D game engine technology, high-fidelity, adaptable models, web apps with WebGL/HTML5 canvas (server-rendered or real-time display), mobile apps with ARkit/ARCore, and full VR integrations.
