242 Main: The Fight for All Ages Music Spaces
Description:
In Vermont, a legendary teen center founded by Bernie Sanders — 242 Main — was closed because the city didn’t maintain its building over decades. Citizens organized to convince the mayor to save the building but they are still fighting to restore the venue that literally saved lives for more than 30 years while generations of youth programmed music there. An activist and filmmaker share the story of 242 Main and the fight to save it — the longest-running all-ages punk rock venue in the country — and the tactics and values that are the heart of that effort.
