SXSW 2019
Growing Talent Takes More than Desks in Coworking
Description:
People are full of potential. When nurtured, they make unique and valuable contributions to business and the world. Interpersonal dynamics are key drivers of success, and “connectedness” is foundational. Most traditional and open work environments don’t foster connection. Status, reputation, and hierarchy tend to constrain relationships among employees. It's easy to assume connection would be automatic in a coworking space, but is often sadly lacking. Social awkwardness and unclear social norms in shared office space make it hard to work at all. The promise of exciting collaboration fails to materialize. Some coworking spaces have emerged as living laboratories for improving work/life satisfaction. Join us in an interactive workshop to discover how connection can be developed as a process.
