SXSW 2019

What Elon & Tech Companies Get Wrong about Cities

Description:

As a species, we can say that one of the keys for human evolution was their inherited social skills. As humans started noticing the dependency on this skill, they started joining in larger groups forming tribes and villages. Looking outside of the infrastructural benefits of this form of organization, that could also be called a technique and a technology towards amplifying the reach of our social skills, and the most advanced iterations of that became our Cities and Urban Space.
Nowadays we have plenty of Tech Companies with Industry X.0 and IOT are proposing Gadgets and instruments that promise to "revolutionize" our cities, that go completely against the core values of our Cities as our first and main technology allowed us to get here in first place.
