SXSW EDU 2025
You Can Guide Student Well-Being Through Music Listening
Description:
Music listening helps children heal. Attendees will be guided through listening activities and reflect on their own use of music for emotional self-regulation and social belonging. They will then learn about K-12 teachers' roles in guiding students' musical discovery through trauma-informed, student-centered, and culturally responsive techniques. Well-being through music listening can be as simple as validating students’ interests and as powerful as building resilience toward the challenges of life. This untapped resource helps dysreglated students learn to heal and thrive, and so can you.
