SXSW EDU 2025
Supporting Peaceful Students, Supporting Successful Inclusion
Description:
Despite inclusive education's power, schools struggle with implementation. We get it. TPCS will lead a Meetup to discuss what we have learned over 10 years about inclusion *beyond* the classroom. As much attention must be paid to student support and SEL as to differentiation. ALL of our students have the opportunity to develop cultural competence from learning with those unlike themselves. Tapestry has embraced a peace-first approach that cultivates active listening, empowerment, and open-mindedness: Peace/Regulation Rooms, student Peace Leaders, a Peer Restorative Practices program, and more.
