Community Storytelling for K-12 Through Banners & QR Codes
Description:
A solo presentation on an innovative edtech concept that engages community while expanding K-12 student knowledge of black and brown stories, specifically about black and brown community leaders. Eight-foot banner flags display dynamic graphics that showcase individual leaders as well as imagery that conveys their contributions and backgrounds. Each flag has a QR code that links the student to the online biography. All flag honorees are nominated and sponsored by the community making their stories local, relevant and culturally affirming to students. Students are inspired by new opportunities.
