Code to Comfort: Can AI Close a Mental Health Gap in Cancer?
Description:
One in three cancer patients in hospitals has a mental health condition such as depression or anxiety. Yet as a result of stigma and/or access challenges only half get referred for a mental health screening. As one in two Americans are expected to get cancer in their lifetime, this mental health crisis is at an inflection point powered by AI, patient advocacy, and policy. This panel will explore how AI is addressing the promise and risks AI carries as a path to closing the mental health gap with a focus on keeping care personal and human support more accessible.
