SXSW 2025

Exploring Speculative Future Data Ecosystems

Description:

As we move towards rapid advancements in technology, we challenge the foundational aspects of how we use, manage, and disseminate data. What could it look like to not move data but create more real-time data flows? What role will our foundational government and statistical functions play? What do healthy and inclusive data ecosystems of the future look like and what might we do now to move towards them in some way? This session includes a set of experts from across industry, government (such as the US Census Bureau), and academia to explore these questions and facilitate co-design discussions.
