SXSW 2025
The Invisible Employee at Work: Adoptees and Foster Alumni
Description:
The Inclusion Initiative is elevating the future of work for Adoptees of Color and Foster Care Alumni. We are ignoring over 13M people. There are over 13M of us in the US, yet we are invisible in the workplace. The conversation around the impact of adoption and foster care ends once kids are adopted or age out of the system. But this lived experience is a huge part of who we are, and impacts us even at work. Our 2024 workplace report shows first-of-its-kind data on Adoptees and Foster Alums at work and illuminates how our visibility builds bridges and connection across teams and companies.
