SXSW EDU 2025
Disrupting Occupational Segregation, Building Career Capital
Description:
More than half of college graduates work in jobs that don’t utilize their degrees. The underemployment crisis is especially worrisome for low-income students and students of color, who hold higher levels of debt and are more likely to be in jobs that don’t require a college degree. What role can early career experiences and social capital play in breaking this cycle? Join social entrepreneurs, advocates, and educators to learn how we can level the playing field for new graduates from underrepresented backgrounds and break down barriers to career and economic mobility.
