SXSW EDU 2025
Emerging Tech, Emergent Bilinguals: Opportunities & Gaps
Description:
The use of educational technology with Multilingual Learners was widespread even before the pandemic, but not all of it was designed to meet the needs of students learning English at school; and most especially, their teachers. In addition to supporting the learning of language, new technology like generative artificial intelligence and machine learning can offer our teachers diverse cultural and linguistic perspectives that support and engage their students and provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where teachers can experiment with their own language skills and cultural understandings.
