Raising the bar: The Impact of Lowered Standards on Student
Description:
There is a lot of talk about learning loss and what students can't do. There is are also a lot of misconceptions around the best approach to take when it comes to addressing this issue. Often times it comes down to meeting students where they are at, which sounds good on the surface, but it does not benefit students in the long run. All students have a right to quality tier one grade level instruction. When we deny students access to this in the name of meeting their right now needs we shortchange them and they continue to stay behind in their academic progress.
