SXSW EDU 2025
I Belong Here: Use of Storytelling in Reclaiming my Voice
Description:
Storytelling can help us connect with our roots, find our voice, foster a sense of belonging, and strengthen ties with our communities. As students and educators, drafting our true stories and listening to other’s stories can be instrumental in discovering our voice and empowering us to be agents of change. In this interactive session, participants will be first guided to map and envision a moment of their life using prompts and write their story draft, followed by peer sharing. Participants also will be provided with anti-oppressive, equitable, and ethical storytelling resources.
