SXSW EDU 2025

The Future Isn’t What It Used to Be: A Systemic Perspective

Description:

First, we will unearth ancient human practices to understand how circumstantial roles were key to our social and intellectual development in the past. Then, we will explore: 1) how industrial practices are still deeply rooted in how we do business both educational and professional development, and 2) how both our spaces and thinking are designed for individualism in the creative economy era, favoring transactional creativity. Finally, we will discuss how the creative ecosystem concept can aid us in understanding our context and facing challenges more effectively in the future.
