SXSW 2025
Serenade for the Soul: Your Voice as Wellness Technology
Description:
What if singing is a survival skill? The emerging field of Arts and Health is confirming that singing stimulates our body's and brain's natural healing systems–but most of us are not using it the way we could. Even worse, some people think they can't sing, or may be too shy to try. The science on singing is clear--it's the doing that counts. In this workshop, professional opera singers show you how to tune into your voice's wellness benefits through breathing, finding resonance, and the emotional power of song. Open to age 10-110–absolutely NO TALENT REQUIRED!
