SXSW 2025
Queer Visions of Our Psychedelic Future
Description:
The current psychedelic landscape is being molded by cisgender, heterosexual, and capitalistic notions of how these medicines might find a place within our culture. We will offer a different view of psychedelics informed by queer theory and activism. This panel will "queer" the narrative around psychedelics, and explore queer spirituality, community, and the role of queer pleasure in psychedelic healing. This team of thought leaders from Chacruna Institute will draw from both clinical and personal experience to paint a vision of a queer psychedelic future based on equity, respect, and love.
