SXSW 2025

Formerly Incarcerated Experts Tour the Globe for Solutions

Description:

“Those closest to the problem are closest to the solution, but furthest from power and resources.” Glenn E. Martin.

The what, why, how, and when of future change is a must hear for anyone who votes or decides on punishment and public safety measures in the U.S., and this story is impossible without the expertise of people who have been incarcerated. This session consists of three leaders that spent close to a combined 50 years in prison and one woman who has worked in prisons for the last 25 years supporting justice-impacted pregnant and parenting people.
