SXSW 2025
Overcoming Adversity as a Young Diverse VC Investor
Description:
This session will highlight the personal challenges that each investor faced when breaking into VC. They will highlight how they’ve gotten through them, how they’ve seen others work through challenges, and what could be done better or differently in the venture capital industry to work towards a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive VC ecosystem. They will then address the misconceptions senior VCs have about junior VCs, how junior VCs can overcome this, and how junior VCs can add value to their firms. Finally, the VCs will discuss how investors can promote diversity within their portfolios.
