SXSW 2025
The UK Museum Pioneering Culture and Tech for Over 40 Years
Description:
The UK’s National Science and Media Museum opened in 1983 – not in London, but in the post-industrial city of Bradford. Combining STEM with history, and media audiences consume daily, it has opened digital culture and creativity to national audiences via exhibitions, events and outreach. The Museum’s events include widescreen, video game and science festivals, plus exhibitions on fake news, filmmaking, and social media. This panel will look at key moments in the Museum’s journey, its work in 2025 when Bradford is the UK’s City of Culture and plans to continue inspiring digital creativity.
