SXSW 2024
Revealing the stain that shames
Description:
67% of menstruating people globally face a monthly challenge: guaranteed blood leaks. Despite progress in normalising menstruation, removing period stains is still the most searched & shameful laundry query. The impact of this taboo includes missed schooling, avoided exercise, & exclusion among intersectional groups. This panel will guide teams who are planning for brands & creatives to shift taboo; the vital role of the photographer's lens, showcasing Persil's "Blood is Good" campaign, sharing real blood imagery, embracing the beauty of stains, affirming ‘you are not dirty, this is life’.
