5 Year Problem: Keeping Teachers in the Classroom
Description:
Teachers are leaving the profession, half of all new teachers exit the classroom after 5 years, and fewer young people are pursuing a teaching career. The teacher pipeline is broken. Today there is more data about the challenges and potential solutions to improve this profession that is so intimately tied to the future success of Texas. Research from the Charles Butt Foundation, Univ of Houston will offer a holistic view of the issue, guiding policy for legislation to overcome this challenge.
