MoCap Mania: Mastery at Any Budget
Description:
Motion capture (mocap) is the process of recording the movement of objects or people. With the help of computer animation, this movement data is then used to create 2D or 3D character models. Once regarded as a tool for AAA games and blockbuster movies, mocap is now more accessible for projects of all budgets. A smartphone camera can gather advanced facial blend shapes and new AI tools can generate markerless mocap data. In this workshop, we’ll explain the history of mocap, troubleshooting techniques, and where mocap technology is headed. Join us for a live demonstration of different mocap tools for different project budgets. Attendees will be able to walk away with their own custom facial or body mocap recording.
