SXSW 2023
AI Ethics in Action: Less Preaching, More Doing
Description:
Ethical principles put forth to produce more responsible Artificial Intelligence –like transparency and fairness– are noble and necessary to achieve equitable outcomes. Translating them into actionable guidance during critical decision-making points is often hindered by the gap in knowledge and priorities that exists between technical designers and developers, and non-technical researchers, advocacy groups, and other decision makers. In this 90-minute interactive low-tech session led by the Stanford d.school, participants from all ‘camps’ will have the opportunity to experientially engage in fundamental concepts underpinning Artificial Intelligence (AI), towards developing a common language and a set of strategies to bring these important ethical principles to life.
