SXSW 2023

Our Multiplanetary Future: Earth, Mars, and Beyond

Description:

The latest developments in robotics and artificial intelligence will help humanity to solve our greatest challenges here on Earth, and take us to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Human civilization requires work. There are many jobs and tasks that are needed to keep the economy functioning and growing, but we are facing a significant labor shortage in the wake of COVID. Automation has long been seen as the answer, but a new breed of robots, general-purpose robots, will help to bridge the gap. In this session, NASA, Apptronik and others that are pushing forward this field will explain how work happening here on Earth will one day allow humanity to push beyond and build settlements on the Moon, Mars, and beyond. They will showcase a new edition of a humanoid robot, named Apollo, at the session.
