SXSW 2023
Moving Forward in the Fight for Internet Freedom
Description:
For over a decade, Internet Freedom has been in decline, while dozens of countries suspend internet access and block social media and other communication tools regularly. Civil society operates in many of these countries with limited understanding of the internet freedom landscape and the tools available to protect themselves and enable secure access to information. IRI, in partnership with Google Jigsaw and in collaboration with other democracy assistance implementers and digital rights groups, will share key findings from a year-long working group exploring how various stakeholders can work strategically to implement local and global solutions to the problem of increasing restrictions on internet freedom.
