Burn It All Down: Making a Feminist Sports Podcast
Description:
The hosts of the feminist sports podcast Burn It All Down will discuss how they have created an innovative, independent podcast against the backdrop of a formulaic sports media landscape dominated by men. They'll talk about the challenges, possibilities, struggles, and surprises they've encountered during the 5+ years of making the show. The session will also feature clips of previous guests like USA soccer legend Briana Scurry, Olympic ice skater Adam Rippon, and Queer Eye powerlifter Angel Flores, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the podcast and a preview of an upcoming episode. The session will end with a Q+A from the audience that will cover not only the show but also the state of sports in society.
