SXSW 2023
By Land or Air: The Tech Powering New Mobility
Description:
A great mobility shift has already started, and the innovation in the next ten years could rival the past century. Personal mobility dominated the 20th century, but now the adoption of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) will allow people to have more options to fit their needs. Whether it's a local autonomous ride, buying a seat to easily get to another city, or using an eVTOL (flying taxi) to finally travel "as the crow flies" - all of these options are either a reality today, or will soon be available for the mass market.
The rise in prices of personal vehicles and fuel will accelerate the shift, but businesses and governments will have to work together to make sure the new options are safe and available to everyone. This forum will discuss many of the innovations and the road ahead.
