Degree Not Required: Reimagining Tech Recruiting
Description:
Many industries are grappling with severe talent shortages, but in none is this more true than in cybersecurity. There are more than 600,000 cyber jobs open, but a laundry list of requirements inhibits many of these roles from being filled. The result is a endless tug-of-war for talent. But what if employers took a different tack? What if they created talent themselves by giving an opportunity to someone who needed it?
HPE is taking this approach by eliminating traditional job asks (i.e. college degree; experience) in favor of training cyber candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. The result? A more diverse candidate pool and an entry point into tech for those who need one. Join us to hear how this philosophy towards hiring is playing out, and why other employers should follow suit.
