SXSW 2023
Infrastructure: Startups, Solutions & Federal Funds
Description:
With federal infrastructure funding providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fix crumbling systems, there needs to be a shift in approach to how funds are allocated for city projects. Innovation for fixing infrastructure issues begins at the grassroots level, working with municipalities. VCs aren’t incentivized to work on developing equitable infrastructure solutions. How do we successfully bridge tech and capital to scale much-needed solutions with less risk-averse implementation partners? As infrastructure solutions are scaled nationwide, this session will explore whether startups are the key to addressing these decades-old issues.
