The challenge of engaging hard-to-reach families through communications is multifaceted, and factors that may act as barriers to connecting include cultural, socioeconomic, technological, institutional, and psychological. This session will share five common situations that impact family engagement and offer practical, easy-to-replicate communications-related recommendations that will help districts and schools reach the last 10% of families in a consistent, effective, and more equitable way.
