SXSW 2023

Buildings Need to be Creative to be Sustainable

Description:

Buildings are some of the worst climate offenders. In fact, commercial buildings account for 37% of global energy-related CO2 emissions. Companies face a big challenge: increase sustainability both in how buildings operate and how buildings are constructed. The structures we erect today must be climate safe and resilient. This lively conversation will cover the sustainable lifecycle of buildings, looking at new innovations in building construction, ways to reduce waste and how building managers can optimize building efficiency while supporting occupant well-being. Let’s flip the script, sustainability & comfort in buildings are not mutually exclusive.
