SXSW 2022
IPFS & Filecoin for the Long Haul
Description:
Put the NFTs in a peer 2 peer hypermedia space-themed storage system for the long haul. An all thrill journey where you'll learn the easy way to use the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) and Filecoin to store precious NFT data that will maybe even span multiple planets one day because, why restrict ourselves to just one? We'll muse over content addressing and specifics of the longevity (or not) of content stored in the IPFS network. We'll talk about "NFT.Storage", how it works, and how to use the JS client or HTTP API as part of your NFT minting flow. We'll do a whole bunch of live coding and explore in depth a new feature called DAG splitting, which enables chunked uploads of BIG files, or more accurately, BIG DAGs - woof. Come for the NFTs, but stay for the space dog themed lolz.
