SXSW 2022
What the Future of Wellness Has to Do With Energy
Description:
Monitoring our energy and how we can best use it is one of the remaining frontiers in wellness. As humans emit 100 watts of energy at rest and up to 2,000 watts during high-intensity activity, why not find ways to harness that energy and incorporate it into our wellness routines? Healthcare practitioners already use a form of radiant energy, infrared light, but there’s more that can be done with infrared modalities like saunas, clothing, and heat lamps to optimize health and wellness. Infrared textiles in particular, where fabrics are woven with particles that capture body heat, offer a tangible health solution that paves the way for other energy-centric therapies in the near future.
