SXSW 2022
Women Power Democracy
Description:
101 years since women WON the right to vote – women are powering democracy. Since the 2020 election, we have seen new barriers to voting and continued attacks on our democracy that requires a renewed investment. And women are leading the way. Together, the League of Women Voters, SuperMajority, LULAC, and Black Voters Matter are working to build more trust in our elections, grow our electorate with equity, and create fairness for voter access. This 1 hour discussion will cover the intersection of gender and race in the voting rights movement, fighting deliberate barriers to voting, how to build community power, dismantle disinformation, and get out the vote in 2022 to ensure your voice is heard.
