SXSW 2022
Cooperative Ownership in the Music Industry
Description:
As the ways that artists are able to control their work and make a living from it continue to dwindle, there is a growing interest to explore how artist owned businesses could help level the playing field. This panel will provide a brief overview of what a co-op is, discuss how this business model can benefit artists, and look at how some are already working to provide artists with more of a say in how their work is presented to the world.
