SXSW EDU 2022
Financial Literacy for People, Not Profit
Description:
We’re living in a time of compounding crises from the pandemic to climate change to racial injustice. None can be fixed without solving the growing gap between the rich and the rest of us. Yet, too often we teach financial literacy as if these systemic issues don’t exist, and that students are a savings account away from millions. This talk, the product of a pedagogical analysis of 30 leading curricula, will offer an alternative vision rooted in fighting for a secure economic future for all.
