SXSW 2020
Diversity and Inclusion In A Divided Society
Description:
Organizations set diversity/inclusion goals with an awareness that success requires both. To “recognize, respect and leverage differences while finding alignment through similarities” in a time of social division presents challenges. Panelists will dig deep into the complexity and nuance required to create a work environment that is psychologically safe and embraces the variety and values of diverse groups of people. How can leadership achieve belonging and help individuals reach their professional potential when personal values and identity won’t always align? How do we embrace differences and mitigate possible backlash or prejudice as we work to create an environment of acceptance and belonging? How do you engage when one person's values are at odds with another person’s identity?
