SXSW 2020

Women & Minority Businesses Grow with CloudStart

Description:

The success rate of women and minority-owned businesses lags behind other businesses because they are especially impacted by the major obstacles to small business growth--lack of capital and low market awareness. Government economic development organizations are trying to foster more equitable and inclusive business growth to address the growing economic divide in many communities, especially major hubs for technology companies. AWS is investing resources to help government leaders address this challenge by directing cloud services, training and business development resources to women and minority-owned businesses through the CloudStart program. This panel will highlight how businesses in Baltimore and other cities have benefited from this program and helped the EDOs achieve their mission.
