SXSW EDU 2020
Black Girls Need Dope, Realer Than Real Mentors
Description:
Now more than ever, Black girls are suspended and expelled from school, disassociating themselves with the classroom, and growing up to fend for themselves. However, when they are provided with a mentor that is understanding, trustworthy and gives them the space to be their unique and truest selves, Black girls flourish. From music, fashion to real-talk conversations, participants of this session learn how to relate to, communicate with, and mentor the Black girl to grow into her dopest self.
